£0.00
sold out

First Edition. 8vo., lithograph-printed by McLagan & Cumming of Edinburgh, illustrated with 16 tipped-in colour plates within decorative calligraphic borders. Finely bound in Publisher’s red morocco gilt, the cover picked out with four green leaf leather onlays, top-edge gilt, others uncut, marbled endpapers, housed in Publisher’s pictorial box en suite with tissue guard. Published by George G. Harrap & Co (London), 1909.

Light spotting to the endpapers, the occasional very minor blemish, otherwise a fine copy. The rare original Publisher’s pictorial box, a little rubbed and marked, very good.

This copy has an interesting and notable provenance, having previously been owned by the descendants of William Hamilton, an art-binder employed by the Harrap bindery.

A wonderful production of this magisterial work, and with the presence of the rare original Publisher’s pictorial box.

Please contact us for shipping costs if ordering from outside the UK.
