(LE CARRE, John.) Smiley's People.

£1,400.00

First edition. Signed by the Author to the title page. 8vo, Publisher’s cloth, spine lettered in gilt, dust jacket; priced at £5.95, pp. 327, newspaper article loosely inserted. Published by Hodder and Stoughton (London) 1980.

A fine example with just a hint of wear to the top of the spine of the dust jacket. Signed copies of this title in collectible condition are becoming increasingly scarce since John Le Carre’s sad recent passing.

This copy has notable provenance containing the engraved bookplate of the Fanshawe of Richmond (March 1927 – December 2001), a Conservative politician and businessman, to the front pastedown.

The final title in Le Carré's Karla Trilogy.
